Landis Arboretum is a private, not-for-profit organization supporting a public garden including
hundreds of acres in Schoharie and Montgomery counties. Forty acres are devoted to plantings
of trees, shrubs, and flowers. The remainder of the property consists of woodlands, fields, and
wetlands, including more than eight miles of trails.

The arboretum has easy trails through northern hardwood forests. Trails include the Woodland
Trail, the Willow Trail, the Acorn and Bass Trails, and the Fred Lape Trail through a crabapple
grove.

Directions: from Schenectady, drive west on route 20 to Esperance. In the town of Esperance,
cross Schoharie Creek and then take a right on Charleston St. Drive up a hill and take a right on
Lape Rd. The arboretum is about 1/2 mile on Lape Rd.
