Escarpment Trail, Thacher Park, 9:30 a.m.
Enjoy autumn views from an easy route along the cliff top, with colorful sugar maple, oak, hickory, juniper, beech, basswood, birch, and witch hazel. Beside the path we’ll look for maple-leaved viburnum, roundleaf dogwood, and snowberry. Led by Nancy Engel.
Be aware Thacher Park Rd. / Rte. 157 will be closed in the middle of the park through late November, and this may affect access to Thacher Visitor Center, where we will meet.
The most direct and easiest way to get there is to approach the park from Route 85 up the hill to 157 which is open all the way to the Thacher Park Visitor Center.
There is a parking fee of $6 per car.
Please call the Park Office at 518-872-1237 for up-to-date information on detours.
For carpooling meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Crosstown Plaza on Rt. 7 and Watt St., in front of Ocean State Odd Lot.
