It’s holiday season and we know you’re busy shopping, partying, planning. But that doesn’t mean you can’t, or shouldn’t, take the time to get outside in nature. It clears the head, makes you feel good, and burns some of those cookie calories that would otherwise turn into extra pounds.
And there’s no good reason not to.
As you may have noticed, the weather has been pretty mild, and it appears it will stay that way at least until Christmas. The 10-day extended forecast shows daytime temperatures in the 30s and even low 40s. That’s not Bermuda, but neither is it Siberia.
It means you can safely and comfortably get out there for a walk around the neighborhood, or on the bike path, or, better still, in one of this area’s wonderful nature preserves. In fact, some of those preserves are part of ECOS’ Seven Preserve Challenge, designed for adults, kids and families. Hike all seven and earn a patch. The preserves and the patch are shown in the attached flier.
Happy hiking — and holidays!
