Mohawk Watershed Symposium
Although they may live right next to it, the Mohawk River is a mystery for many Capital Region residents. They have never walked or biked along it, or fished or boated on it. They don’t know which flora and fauna it contains, or why it is prone to flooding, or how good the quality of its water, or what threatens that quality.
ECOS hopes to start changing this by bringing more people to the river for educational and recreational activities. And by working with other organizations whose goal is to protect the river and improve access to it.
One way to quickly get up to speed on the issues mentioned above is to attend Union College’s Mohawk Watershed Symposium. This is an all-day event held each year that features posters and presentations about research projects focused on the river.
The symposium will be on March 22 this year. Click on the link below for details.
