To enable the use of surplus latex paint, ECOS maintains a data base of not-for-profit organizations that can use latex paint, as well as color and quantity needed.

CRITERIA:

Only latex (water based) paint is acceptable

Paint must be usable

cannot have a sandy texture

cannot have mold growth

must be able to be stirred back to a usable product

must be at least a half-gallon of same type and color

PROCEDURE:

Person with paint that meets all of the above criteria calls

ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse at 370-4125

and asks for referral to a not-for-profit organization

and arranges for transfer of the paint.
