ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse
ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse is a regional environmental organization founded in Schenectady, New York in 1971 by members of the Junior League. ECOS is a non-profit, non-political association of people dedicated to understanding and preserving our natural environment. Efforts were originally concentrated on Schenectady County, but ECOS has widened its outreach to include the Capital Region and beyond. ECOS is supported by membership contributions, donations, grants and volunteers. Membership is open to all. ECOS activities are carried out by an executive director, by a Board of Directors and by volunteers.
